Denis started diving as a boy. Introduced to the sea by his father, he was growing up spearfishing, exploring the underwater world and harvesting marine life for aquariums. For 10 years he trained competitive finswimming and apnea. In 2016 he moved to Malta where he turned full aquatic ever since, with over 5000 spearfishing hours in the first 6 years. During that time he also built his own beginner and advanced spearfishing program and body of knowledge, using his immense experience, years of research as well as interviews with other experienced spearos.

Since 2020 he is also teaching as an active freediving and spearfishing instructor in Malta. In 2024 he joins the Si family for the most complete, all around and in depth program of spearfishing out there. He becomes an Si spearfishing instructor, while being taught by the champ Manolis himself. Besides being a passionate spearo, he is also an outdoors enthusiast, big basketball fan and he loves to ice skate and play hockey.
